In 2010, my husband and I fell in love with a magical plot of woodland in western Maine – birches, maples, pines, and beeches all wrapped around a clear, eager, little stream.

It called to us. We put our roots down among the trees and began to grow.

Now, almost 7 years later, with two children, a dog, and flocks of our own we belong as much to this little wilderness as it does to us. The land has changed us, nurtured us, and grown with us. I never knew that I could be so at home in the dark, under the sky.

Here on our land we’ve built a small domestic monastery. Here I am wife, mother, teacher, writer, homesteader, healer, and artist. And here, one this little blog, I hope to share my life a little in words and images.
